Yes, you heard that right—news-note. Because, let's be honest, who wants to read another "letter" these days? The internet is overflowing with content that often goes unnoticed. My theory? How Understanding Your 'Why' Builds Trust and Attracts Top Sales Talent
In his book Start with Why, Simon Sinek explains how great leaders like Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi inspired action by first focusing on the "why" behind their actions, rather than just the "what" or "how." They moved people by connecting with purpose, sparking emotion and loyalty.
One of the most important ways to get your sales team to buy into your leadership is by explaining why you do what you do. Without your sales team’s buy-in your revenue engine will never deliver the unicorn results every VC and CEO is after.
Early in my career, I planned to quit corporate at 30 and become a teacher. If I look back and ask myself why I wanted to do that over contributing to the corporate world, well it’s because as early as I can remember I always enjoyed helping people learn and level up, and I’ve shared this anecdote with every sales team I’ve led.
Understanding your "why" is what will differentiate you as a leader. It’s your personal brand’s secret weapon, giving you credibility, respect, and the ability to attract top talent. It builds trust, both with your team and your customers.
Whether a leader or an individual contributor, it’s great practice to ask yourself what your why is and share it with others on a regular basis. Let that be the fuel to your workflow.
